BLU Light Therapy Treatment Instructions
Pre BLU Light
- Be prepared to sit in the office for 2-3 hours in warm area, away from sunlight/ fluorescent lighting
- Please bring wide brim hate
- Area being treated should be clean before arrival
- No face make-up, or hair products
Post BLU Light
- Can expect some burning or stinging similar to s sunburn, can last 7-10 days
- If a blister occurs do not pop it, if peeling refrain from peeling orpicking at the skin
- You MUST AVOID DIRECT SUN AND BRIGHT FLOURESCENT LIGHT for 48 hours after treatment
- Keep the treated area clean with mild soap or cleansers such as CeraVe or Cetaphil.
- Keep the treated area well moisturized with Cicaplast balm, CeraVe cream or Aquaphor to aid in the healing process.
- To alleviate any discomfort you may…
- Use cool compresses
- Use aquaphor, vaseline, or cicaplast balm 2-4x daily
- Avoid topical anesthetics or topical antibiotics unless advised by your provider
- To alleviate itching/ discomfort can do antihistamines such as Zyrtec, Allegra, or Clairtin
- Daily sun block with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide should be worn during daytime hours, especially for the week following Blue light, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun.
