Chemical Peels

What Are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are non-invasive skin resurfacing treatments that use exfoliating solutions to remove the outermost layer of dead skin, promoting cell turnover and revealing smoother, more radiant skin underneath. These treatments help improve skin tone, texture, and overall clarity by targeting concerns like acne, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and dullness.

Chemical peels come in different strengths superficial, medium-depth, and deep peels each designed to address specific skin concerns. Whether you’re looking for a gentle refresh or a more dramatic transformation, there’s a peel suited to your needs.

The Benefits of Chemical Peels

  • Improves skin texture and tone
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Fades hyperpigmentation, melasma, and sun damage
  • Helps clear acne and minimize breakouts
  • Boosts collagen production for firmer skin
  • Enhances the effectiveness of skincare products

Who Is a Candidate for Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are ideal for individuals looking to improve overall skin health or address concerns like acne, aging, or uneven pigmentation. Candidates typically have mild to moderate skin issues such as acne scars, sun damage, or fine lines and want to enhance skin radiance and clarity. Those without active skin infections or severe sensitivity and who are committed to following post-peel aftercare instructions are good candidates for treatment. A consultation is recommended to determine the most suitable peel based on your skin type, concerns, and aesthetic goals.

Types of Chemical Peels We Offer

At Natural Image Skin Center, we offer a range of chemical peels tailored to your skin’s needs, from mild exfoliation to deeper resurfacing.

Superficial Peels (Light Peels)

Gentle exfoliation peels using AHAs, BHAs, or enzymes to refresh the skin with minimal downtime. Great for glowing skin before an event and mild breakouts.

Medium-Depth Peels

Stronger peels that penetrate deeper to reduce wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage. These peels require a short recovery period but provide dramatic skin rejuvenation.

VI Peel

The VI Peel  is a medium-depth chemical peel designed to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity while targeting acne, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation. Its unique blend of TCA, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, and Vitamin C exfoliates the skin, stimulates collagen production, and promotes a more youthful glow.

Safe for all skin types, the VI Peel provides noticeable improvements in just one treatment with minimal discomfort and downtime.

Deep Peels

Aggressive peels that offer long-lasting improvements for severe wrinkles, deep acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. Requires significant downtime and aftercare.

The Chemical Peel Process – What to Expect?

  • Consultation & Skin Assessment: We evaluate your skin and recommend the most suitable peel.
  • Cleansing & Preparation: Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, and a prepping solution is applied.
  • Application of the Peel: The chemical solution is applied and left on for a specific duration.
  • Neutralization & Aftercare: Some peels self-neutralize, while others require a neutralizing agent. Post-treatment skincare instructions will be provided.

Recovery & Downtime

Recovery depends on the depth of the peel. Superficial peels have little to no downtime, with mild redness that fades within hours. Medium-depth peels, like the VI Peel, cause peeling for about five to seven days, during which skin may feel tight and sensitive. Deep peels require a longer recovery, with redness and significant peeling lasting over a week.

To ensure proper healing, avoid sun exposure, use SPF 30+, keep skin hydrated, and resist picking at peeling skin. A gentle skincare routine without active ingredients is recommended for at least a week. Your provider will guide you on the best aftercare for optimal results.
